My unique 'Watch It ... Print It ... DO It' multi-media tutorials empower you to learn all you need to know in the most 'painless', effective and quickest way possible. It's just another way I go the extra mile to give my valued members an Unfair Advantage over the rest.
You see, watching a video is a great way to discover how to do a new task. After all, imagine being handed an instruction manual telling you how to tie your shoes laces!
But as good as a video is, it only goes SO FAR . . .
Because - unless you have the luxury of two computers, you can't watch the video AT THE SAME TIME as you try to DO it.
So you either need a photographic memory or take copious notes first.
But no longer. Because I've gone the extra mile for you.
That means you can watch the video to get the basic idea and then print out the fully illustrated checklist that you can have by your side to refer to step by simple step . . . when you actually come to do it yourself.
The result is you'll get it done right first time and experience a great feeling of accomplishment instead of the frustration of it not working because you forgot some vital step.
So here's an example of my See It, Print It and DO it . . .
First my members get to SEE how to do it . . .
Then - when they've watched the video, members can print out an illustrated checklist, like this, to make doing it first time a SNAP . . .
If you have already downloaded FileZilla, you should have this icon on your desktop . . .
Double click on that FileZilla icon to fire up the program and this will bring up your FileZilla dashboard . . .
The big left-hand section at the bottom displays all the files you have in your own computer. And, on the right hand side, is an area which will display all the files you have on your server. These files will appear once you log in to your FileZilla program.
And you do that by putting in your ftp address for your web hosting account plus your web host user name and password into the top area, where shown.
Once that's done, simply click on the 'Quickconnect' button.
You'll then see the dashboard go into a frenzy of activity in the top left hand corner where you'll get a running report of what's happening and the current status of your connection.
And, at the same time, the right-hand bottom section will fill with all the files that are currently on your server -- like this . . .
You then need to scroll down the right-hand (website) box to find the file I've highlighted here in the red box . . .
It's entitled 'public_h…' but when you hover your cursor over it, you'll see its full title, which is 'public_html'
Double click on that and you'll see your list of web sites will appear. Like this . . .
Then simply double click on the web site that you want to upload files to.
If you want to put your uploaded file in a specific area of the website keep drilling down with more clicks until you come to the right section.
Once you have that website area located, it's time to find the file you want to upload to your web site.
So click on the left-hand area of the FTP dashboard, where your computer files are listed. Then, just like your website area the files will all be revealed and you can keep clicking to drill down until you locate the correct file.
Now comes the fun part.
Simply left click with your mouse on the file to be uploaded and HOLD THE BUTTON DOWN. Then drag the file over to the right hand side (website) section of the FTP dashboard.
Once you have dragged it well into the website area, simply release the button on the mouse.
You'll then see the progress of the upload shown in the very bottom section of your dashboard, like this . . .
And, in a short while, you'll see your file in the website section, confirming it is now uploaded to your site. This is actually a copy of the file. As you can see, the original still resides in your computer.
